During Air Venture, on July 22, 10AM EDT, at EAA’s Professional Pilot Center, Dean shared techniques adopted from over 25 years of flight instructing, based on processes advocated at a regional airline, aircraft manufacture, and various GA safety groups. These methods include how to effectively transition from the enroute to the terminal environment. Defining what are the key tasks to be performed outside the final approach fix to ensure you are stabilized and ready for a missed approach.  A technique for preparing you mentally for the descent to DA/MDA and possible missed approach.
