Air Corgi Flight Technologies

Mission Statement

To improve pilot proficiency in the instrument flying environment by teaching beyond the Airman Certification Standards (ACS). We provide real world training, based on over 25 years of flight instruction.

Background

Air Corgi was formed after my professional career in engineering, manufacturing, and quality. Companies I have worked for included Ford Motor Company, Hawker Beechcraft Aircraft, John Deere, and Parker Aerospace,

Along the way, I earned an ATP (SEL/MEL), CFI-I (SEL/MEL), and SF50 Type Rating. I also spent a brief period in the SkyWest First Officer program.

At Elevate Aviation (SLC) I became a Cirrus Training Center Instructor (TCI) focused on instrument training in the Cirrus SR2X series of aircraft. I was typed in the SF50 Vision Jet, providing professional pilot services to their clients.

In 2025 I completed the American Bonanza Society (ABS) Flight Instructor Academy and Beech Essentials Systems Training. I am in process to be an ABS Recognized Instructor.

Training Approach

My background in engineering and manufacturing drives me to utilizing standardized techniques and procedures in learning to “fly by instruments.” I have created simplified, repeatable and reproducible processes by which you can perform any departure, arrival, and instrument approach with confidence.

Second, I teach to proficiency, not to the minimum Airman Certification Standards (ACS). My goal is to make you a safe instrument pilot, not simply to get you to pass the practical test.

Third, I provide ground training on all required subject matter for the instrument rating. This is a significant advantage to you, as many schools only focus on flying, not the ground portion of the training. I also integrate over 26 years of flight instructing to teach “beyond the book” so you will be able to safely fly in the IFR environment.

Finally, I utilize the industry standard, Jeppesen Instrument Flight Training Manual and Syllabus along with Rod Machado’s Instrument Pilot’s Handbook. You will always know where you are in the curriculum, and what is expected in every flight and ground lesson, so you can come prepared to every lesson, saving you time and money.
